Frequently asked questions.

What is The Local Epicurean?

The Local Epicurean (TLE) is a hospitality business that blends immersive cooking classes, fresh pasta production, a curated Italian-inspired market, and craft wine and cocktail offerings. It’s not a restaurant—it’s a destination for culinary experiences and connection.

What are the core revenue streams?

Each TLE location generates revenue through:

  • Private cooking classes (for individuals, couples, parties, and corporate events)

  • Fresh pasta production for in-store sale and retail packaging

  • A curated market featuring handmade items, imported goods, and wine

  • Take-and-bake gourmet meals (lasagnas, sauces, garlic bread, etc.)

  • Beverage service (wine, beer, craft cocktails—especially during classes)

How much does it cost to open a franchise?

The total all-in investment typically ranges from $250,000 to $400,000, depending on location and buildout.

This includes the $25,000 franchise fee, buildout, equipment, and startup working capital.

What are the ongoing fees?

Franchisees pay a 4% royalty fee on gross monthly sales.

What kind of support do I get as a franchise?

We’re small, hands-on, and fully invested in your success. Franchisees receive:

  • Site selection and lease review support

  • A comprehensive operations manual

  • In-person and virtual training

  • Marketing toolkit and launch plan

  • Ongoing check-ins and business coaching

You’ll work directly with operators who’ve built successful locations—not a disconnected corporate team.

How long does it take to open a TLE franchise?

Most franchisees open their doors within 6 to 9 months of signing their agreement.

The timeline depends on location, permitting, and buildout specifics—but we’re with you every step of the way to keep things moving efficiently.

Who is the ideal franchisee?

We’re looking for:

  • Entrepreneurs with a passion for hospitality and high-quality food

  • Community-minded leaders who want to build something meaningful

  • Individuals with a net worth of $500K+ and $150K+ in liquid capital

  • People who want a true partnership—not just a license to operate

Do I need restaurant experience?

No. TLE isn’t a restaurant—it’s a hospitality and experience business. While service or operations experience is helpful, it’s not required. We’ll teach you everything you need to know.

Can I own multiple locations?

Yes, absolutely. In fact, we welcome growth-minded operators and will work with you to create a path toward multi-unit ownership.
